Police said a body matching a 4-year-old autistic girl’s description was found in a retention pond.
Since last Thursday, Fiedwenya “NeeGee” Fiefe has not been seen or heard from. A Silver Alert was issued for the child, who was last seen in a long pink nightgown.
Searches for the child continued into Friday in the Legacy Farms neighbourhood, where she was believed to be hiding.
Unfortunately, around 7:30 p.m. on Friday, the Plainfield Police Department decided to call off the search for the missing person.
According to the Plainfield Police Department, the NeeGee probe “has come to a tragic and devastating end.”
The Hendricks County Coroner’s Office will identify the youngster, according to police. The slain child’s corpse matched NeeGee’s description, investigators said.
Friday morning, police and firemen scoured the area. When officials asked for volunteers, so many people responded that they didn’t need any more help.
This morning, FOX59 had a conversation with a woman in the Legacy Farms neighborhood who claimed to be NeeGee’s mother.
Near a retention pond, they spoke. The wife thought the kid was with her grandma when she went missing, but she misunderstood.
