In addition to the current $7,500 in subsidies granted by the state, some Oregon residents shopping for a new electric vehicle may be eligible for a staggering $15,000 in rebates after the passing of a climate legislation.

The newly enacted Inflation Reduction Act is being dubbed one of the most significant government investments in environmental preservation in U.S. history.

It is anticipated that it would devote $369 billion towards programs relating to climate change and renewable energy.

Low- and moderate-income families will be eligible for federal tax credits of up to $7,500 for a new electric car or up to $4,000 for a used electric vehicle.

Mallory and her colleagues advise Biden on environmental and natural resource policy, focusing on environmental justice and climate change. Biden consults Mallory.

A maximum purchase price, a family income condition, and the electric vehicle’s manufacturing site must be met for maximum federal tax benefits.

Mallory, on the other hand, asserts that the tax credits will make it possible for a greater number of people living on fixed incomes to afford an electric vehicle.

Oregon citizens are also eligible for federal tax credits. The state offers two different rebates for electric vehicles.

Consumers who buy a new plug-in hybrid or battery electric car for less than $50,000 and qualify for the Standard Reimbursement Program may get a $2,500 refund.

The qualifying requirements for the Charge Ahead Rebate program change depending on the number of people in a household and their annual wage.

If you buy or lease a qualifying plug-in hybrid or battery electric car, you might get a $5,000 rebate. Oregon residents who qualify may get $7,500 in state aid.
