WGN Investigates revealed that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s migrants were transferred to a nearby hotel without alerting the mayor.

Gary Grasso, mayor of Burr Ridge, told WGN, “I’m worried that neither the village administration nor I were alerted about this.” ”

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has criticized Abbott for treating refugees like “freight” and not informing her of their arrival.

“My sadness originates from the acts of the governor of Texas,” Lightfoot said after the arrival of the first bus carrying 50 migrants.

Lightfoot cites this as the source of his discontent. In spite of the fact that “there may be some degree of coordination and cooperation,”

He “tries to transfer human persons across the country to an uncertain destination.” This is in contrast to the movement of products or freight.

Another group of 75 migrants left Texas on Wednesday with the intention of arriving in Chicago the following day.

Lightfoot, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker all pledged to welcome the migrants and provide their basic needs.
