Lehigh County police say a drunk motorist on Airport Road caused a tragic collision.

There have been allegations that a woman who was 55 years old and from Allentown was killed in an incident that was head-on.

On Friday night, November 2, at around 11 o’clock p.m., the event took place in Hanover Township on Airport Road South.

A 41-year-old man from Glenside, Montgomery County, was driving on the wrong side of the road, according to state police.

According to the inquiry, he then caused a head-on accident with Catherine Neelon’s 55-year-old automobile.

Unfortunately, Neelon did not make it through her stay in the hospital. The autopsy report will be released on Monday.

The motorist who was going the wrong way was reportedly arrested for driving under the influence, according to the police.

Authorities have not disclosed his identification to the public, and it does not seem that a case concerning him has been brought up.

At this time, there is no information available to indicate whether or not the driver will also be charged with murder by vehicle.

Police and cleaning crews investigated the incident and reopened Airport Road South between Airport Center Drive and Catasauqua Road.

Investigations into the matter are currently being carried out by the State Police and the District Attorney’s Office for Lehigh County.
